A new community investment funding program for rooftop solar has met its $139,600 target in just two days, taking its total fund-raising to nearly $500,000 from four programs.

The technology powering the I-Pace has been developed in the UK and uses the latest in lithium-ion battery technology. They sit under the car in what engineers call a “skateboard” chassis with an electric motor at either end meaning the I-Pace is all-wheel drive.

GCL-SI, a subsidiary of GCL, is to develop a 1GW solar PV plant at the former contaminated nuclear site in Chernobyl, Ukraine. Construction is expected to start in 2017.
